Preparing your resume for Australia
Workforce Australia’s resume planner recommends recent-first work history with tasks and achievements, relevant education, and registrations or licences with expiry dates. It also recognises skills gained through study, work experience and volunteering.
Check the complete application
Check whether the employer requests a separate response to selection criteria. If it does, the resume alone is not the complete application. List the exact licence you hold and its status rather than suggesting it covers activities outside its scope.
A practical writing example
For a warehouse role, separate “operated a pallet jack during supervised shifts” from a forklift licence. These are different claims. Include the forklift licence only if you hold the required current credential.
