ResumeGuru is an AI career product; its application is Vale. The front door is a free AI resume review: upload a PDF or Word file and get two scores out of 100, five to seven ranked issues, section notes and a keyword gap, with no account required and nothing held back. The review builds a Career Story, a structured record of the person's career, and every document the product generates afterwards is written from that one record. It is built for the Indian market and the markets Indian candidates apply into.
What this is.

- What is ResumeGuru?
- ResumeGuru is an AI career product. Its main application is CareerOS, which includes the Vale AI copilot. It is made by ResumeGuru India and has been operating since 2022.
- What does it do?
- It reviews a resume, builds a structured record of a person's career from it, and then generates their documents, resumes, tailored versions per job posting, cover letters, LinkedIn profile text, from that one record rather than writing each one separately.

- The product's AI copilot. It works over the Career Story, can take actions on the user's behalf within tiered write permissions, with permissions and confirmation requirements for supported actions.
- Where does it operate?
- www.resumeguru.ai is the canonical home for ResumeGuru and Vale. The former resumeguru.in website has been migrated and now redirects to resumeguru.ai; it is not a separate India product. The application remains locale-aware, with USD as the global default and INR available for India.

Five blocks. Each description states the shape the engine is forced to return, not what a good run looks like, these are the minimum and maximum counts the tool schema enforces.

A score out of 10 with a one-line note for summary, experience, skills, education and formatting, plus a one-sentence read on parsing risk.
Keywords and market fit
Suggested role keywords, an AI assessment of market fit, a count of bullets containing numbers, and three suggested actions. Verify relevance against the vacancy; numbers alone do not prove an achievement.

A mechanical-correctness score, the specific spelling and grammar errors quoted from your text, and the professional links or contact fields you are missing.
One score is computed. One is judged.
They measure different things and are allowed to disagree. Any summary that treats them as one number out of 100 is describing something else.

18 weighted checks totalling 100 points, added up in code from AI-extracted facts and inferred role keywords. The arithmetic is fixed, but those inputs can vary between runs. The categories and their weights:

This one reads the writing: results versus duties, whether the summary says anything, whether a recruiter would understand the scope. It is calibrated to be hard rather than encouraging, which is why the bands sit lower than people expect.

What is actually India-specific about it.
Each of these is an instruction the engine works under, not a marketing position. They are the things a tool built for one market gets wrong on a document from another.
- The reviewer is instructed to accept Commonwealth spellings such as organised, programme and centre. AI can still make mistakes; check any proposed correction against the language used in your application.
- The reviewer's brief names Canada, the US, the UK, the EU, the Gulf, Singapore, Australia and India, and the market verdict is written against the market a resume is aimed at rather than a default American one.
- Personal fields common on Indian resumes, date of birth, nationality, marital status, passport number, are transcribed and considered rather than silently dropped before review.
- The review is written in plain words and short sentences, for readers who learned English as a second language, without becoming less specific.
- The sample library is organised by career field and experience level. Examples illustrate ways to describe experience and should be adapted to the applicant’s own background and target role.
