This policy explains how ResumeGuru collects, uses and protects your personal data, and the choices you have.
Who we are
ResumeGuru is a career software service operated by ResumeGuru India in India. Our website is resumeguru.ai. For privacy questions, requests or grievances, email support@resumeguru.ai.
What we collect
Account details, such as your name, email address and phone number.
Information you give us, including resumes, career details, files, messages and chats with Vale on the website and WhatsApp. This may include your location and job preferences.
Payment processors handle your payment details. We keep payment status and transaction records, but do not store card numbers.
Usage and device information, such as pages visited, browser and device type, and information needed for security.
Only with your consent, analytics and advertising measurement data. This includes how you use the service and information about the ad link you arrived from.
Why we collect it
We use account details and the content you provide to deliver and improve the service, generate and check documents, and provide support. We use payment records to manage purchases. Usage and device information helps us keep the service secure and fix problems. We also use data to meet legal obligations.
With your consent, we use analytics to understand how the service is used and advertising measurement to see which ads lead to visits and purchases. We send marketing messages only if you opt in.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our contract with you to provide the service, legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in service quality, support and security. Optional analytics, advertising measurement and marketing rely on consent. Without the information needed for a service or purchase, we may be unable to provide it.
How we use AI
We use AI systems to provide the service, including to write, review, check and rate your content and to sort messages. We do not use your content to train AI models. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Review it before you use it.
Staff access
Authorised ResumeGuru staff may access your account, conversations and documents when needed for support, quality checks of paid orders, safety and fixing problems.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers acting for us, except where disclosure is required by law. They provide hosting and databases, AI services, payments, email and messaging including WhatsApp, security and error monitoring, and analytics and advertising measurement with your consent. Each receives only the data it needs for its purpose. A list of current providers is available on request.
Only with your consent, advertising platforms may receive purchase and click information to measure ads. We do not share your resumes, conversations or documents for advertising. We never sell personal data.
If you message us on WhatsApp from an ad, the messaging platform tells us which ad you came from. We keep that ad's click identifier only if you allow ad measurement in the chat. You can withdraw that choice at any time by replying AD NO or STOP. If you then buy, we may send the advertising platform that identifier with the purchase value, the currency and a coded order reference. We do not send your messages, resumes or documents.
Where data is processed
Your data may be processed outside India, including in the United States. We use appropriate safeguards where required by law. Contact us for information about these safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account exists. Vale conversation logs are kept for 90 days. Billing records are kept for 7 years for tax and accounting obligations.
Deleted notes and uploaded files are hidden immediately. They can be restored for up to 30 days before permanent deletion. Account deletion takes priority over this recovery period.
Our ad and campaign attribution records are deleted after 30 days if not linked to an account, or 365 days if linked to one.
You can request account deletion in Settings, under Data and privacy. After a short cancellation window, we remove your account data, conversations and documents. Required billing records remain for the 7-year period with your personal details removed.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal data and limit access to those who need it. No online service is completely secure. We will notify you of a personal data breach where the law requires.
Your rights
You can request access to your personal data, information about its use and sharing, correction or completion, and deletion. You can export data or request account deletion in Settings, under Data and privacy. Email support@resumeguru.ai for other requests or to raise a grievance. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within the time the law requires.
You can withdraw consent at any time through cookie preferences, Settings or by contacting us. Marketing emails also have an unsubscribe link. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. Some services may no longer be available if the necessary consent is withdrawn.
Under India's DPDP Act, you can nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to do so. Contact us to make a nomination. If your grievance is not resolved through us, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India through its official complaint process, when available under the Act.
Where overseas data protection laws apply, you may also have rights to data portability, restriction of processing and objection. You can exercise these rights by contacting us and complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in the European Union, and older where local law requires. A parent or guardian must provide consent where required by law. Contact us if you believe a child's data was shared without the required consent.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of India and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Where the EU GDPR or other applicable data protection laws give you rights, we honour them.

Necessary cookies and similar storage keep sign-in and preferences working. Optional analytics and advertising measurement require your consent. See our Cookie Policy at resumeguru.ai/cookies. You can change your choices through cookie preferences or Settings.
Changes to this policy
We will update the date when this policy changes. We will notify existing users of material changes by email or a clear notice on the site. If a change requires new consent, we will ask for it.
