Follow-up email after an interview
Write a short follow-up that gives the interviewer enough context to reply. Choose a thank-you, a status check or a second follow-up; edit and download the draft here.
A useful starting point.
Add your details, or try the example. You can edit, copy and download the result here.
When should I follow up?
Send a thank-you while the conversation is fresh. For a status check, respect the date the recruiter gave you. If that date has passed, ask for an update once rather than sending daily reminders.
What if there is no reply?
Keep a second follow-up short, then continue your search. A missing reply does not tell you why the process has paused. Avoid pressure, repeated calls or invented competing offers.
What should the subject line say?
Keep the role and purpose clear. Replying to the existing interview thread also gives the recruiter context. Check the recipient and attachments before sending.
