3 LPA in-hand salary: about INR 21,191 a month.
On a CTC of INR 3,00,000 a year you take home about INR 21,191 a month under the new tax regime and INR 21,191 under the old regime.
Neither regime has any tax to cancel, so professional tax is the only tax, and your state sets it.
At 3 LPA both taxable incomes sit inside the slabs taxed at 0%: INR 1,99,785 against the new regime's INR 4 lakh, and INR 2,04,285 against the old regime's INR 2.5 lakh. No rebate is involved, because there is no slab tax to begin with. The old regime's first rupee of slab tax comes at a CTC of about 3.54 LPA.
That leaves professional tax as the only tax on your payslip, and on a gross salary of INR 22,899 a month the state you work in decides it. For the year it comes to INR 2,500 in Maharashtra for men and Chennai; INR 2,400 in Gujarat and Telangana; INR 1,560 in West Bengal; nothing in Karnataka and Maharashtra for women. Karnataka's schedule starts at INR 25,000 a month, a CTC of about 3.28 LPA with this structure.
Your basic pay of INR 12,500 a month is under even the old INR 15,000 PF ceiling, so its rise to INR 25,000 on 17 September 2026 changed nothing here: PF is INR 1,500 a month from you and the same from your employer, however your employer counts it.
From a 3 LPA CTC to your bank account.
Basic pay at 50% of CTC, PF at 12% of full basic for you and your employer, gratuity at 4.81% of basic inside the CTC, the Maharashtra rate of professional tax for men, no variable pay and no old regime deductions beyond PF and professional tax.
