6 LPA in-hand salary: about INR 42,590 a month.
On a CTC of INR 6,00,000 a year you take home about INR 42,590 a month under the new tax regime and INR 42,590 under the old regime.
Basic pay reaches the INR 25,000 PF ceiling, and neither regime takes tax.
With basic at half the CTC, 6 LPA puts your basic pay at INR 25,000 a month, exactly the PF wage ceiling since 17 September 2026 (it was INR 15,000 before). Up to here it makes no difference whether your employer counts PF on your full basic or only up to the ceiling: both come to INR 3,000 a month from you and the same from your employer. Above 6 LPA the two ways part, and an employer that stops at the ceiling pays the difference as salary instead.
It is also the highest of these levels at which neither regime charges income tax. New regime taxable income is INR 4,74,570, and the section 156 rebate cancels its INR 3,729 of slab tax. Old regime taxable income is INR 4,61,070, INR 38,930 inside that regime's INR 5 lakh rebate limit, so its rebate cancels the INR 10,554 it would otherwise charge.
So the regime you pick changes nothing at this salary: both leave INR 42,590 a month. The old regime's rebate runs out at a CTC of about 6.46 LPA, and above that it charges tax the new regime does not.
From a 6 LPA CTC to your bank account.
Basic pay at 50% of CTC, PF at 12% of full basic for you and your employer, gratuity at 4.81% of basic inside the CTC, the Maharashtra rate of professional tax for men, no variable pay and no old regime deductions beyond PF and professional tax.
