Write project evidence in a useful sequence

Explain the project question, the work you completed and the output you prepared. For a monitoring project, that might include checking units, reconciling field records and presenting a data table for technical review. State the scale when it helps, such as the number of sites or records, without exposing confidential locations. A clear account of the data and the review process is more informative than saying you ensured environmental compliance across all operations.

Keep engineering authority separate from support work

Prepared, reviewed, approved and certified describe different responsibilities. Choose the verb that matches your actual role. If a senior engineer signed the report, describe the sections or analyses you produced and the review you supported. Do not add PE or another professional designation unless you hold it and can state its relevant status accurately. Check the requirements for the location and role you are applying to before adding a professional designation.

Use outcomes that the evidence supports

Fewer incomplete records, clearer calculations and a faster reporting handover can be useful achievements. Explain the period and measurement rather than inventing a dramatic environmental benefit. A completed monitoring report does not automatically prove a reduction in pollution. If your work contributed to a treatment improvement, distinguish observed results from modelled estimates and identify the scope of your contribution. Keep assumptions visible when a calculation depends on a flow rate, concentration or other input that may vary.
