Best resume writing services in India: how to choose.

The best choice depends on the help you need: a writer to interview you and shape your career history, or software to diagnose and improve a resume you can edit yourself. Compare the actual writer, intake process, deliverables, and revision terms before paying. Start with a free review if you are unsure what needs fixing.

Updated 5 September 2026. Published by ResumeGuru, an AI career software product. We do not offer a human resume-writing service. This is a provider shortlist and buying guide, not a scored ranking or a hands-on test of paid packages.

Writing services to compare

These providers publicly describe resume-writing services. The notes below explain what to verify with each provider; they do not establish which writer will do the best work for you. Packages and availability can change, so confirm the current scope and total price directly.

Naukri FastForward

Naukri lists resume-writing services alongside its other job-search services.

Before buying: Ask which writing package fits your experience, how you will speak to the writer, and whether profile visibility products are separate purchases.

foundit Career Services

foundit lists resume writing and LinkedIn makeover among its career services.

Before buying: Ask for the exact writing deliverables, an example relevant to your role, the revision window, and which extras are included in your quote.

TopResume

TopResume describes a questionnaire, writer matching, first-draft feedback, and final document delivery.

Before buying: Confirm experience with your target country and profession, the currency you will be billed in, and whether a phone consultation is included or an add-on.

A writer, software, or both?

Consider a human writer when…

You need a conversation to untangle a long career, explain a pivot, select relevant achievements, or turn scattered notes into a first draft. Choose someone who asks specific questions and lets you verify every claim.

Consider software when…

You already have the underlying facts and want feedback, editing control, or repeat tailoring for different jobs. You still need to review the suggestions and correct anything that does not match your experience.

ResumeGuru is in the software category. The free resume review identifies issues in your current document. Career Story holds your career evidence for generating resumes and other application material. Paid features and current prices are listed on our pricing page.

A fresher with a tight budget can start with the fresher resume guide, use relevant sample structures, then review the draft. Pay for writing help when the remaining problem needs it.

Six questions to ask before buying

  1. Who will write my resume?

Ask about the assigned writer's experience with your role and target market, not just the company's total years in business. Request an anonymised example with a similar career situation.

  2. What information will you ask me for?

A useful intake asks about target jobs, responsibilities, scope, achievements, projects, and constraints. If you cannot support a number or skill, it should not appear in the final document.

  3. What exactly will I receive?

Confirm editable files, a readable PDF, the number of versions, and whether cover letters or LinkedIn text are included. A visual design, a rewrite, and paid profile visibility are different deliverables.

  4. How do revisions work?

Get the first-draft date, revision window, number of rounds, and communication method in writing. Check cancellation and refund terms before payment.

  5. How will you adapt it to my target job?

Give the writer representative job descriptions. Ask how they will select relevant evidence and terminology while keeping titles, dates, qualifications, and achievements accurate.

  6. What does the guarantee actually cover?

Read the conditions and remedy. A rewrite promise is different from a refund or an interview guarantee. No provider controls an employer's shortlist or hiring decision.

What an Indian applicant should check in the draft

Check that your degree, institution, dates, employer names, job titles, and contact details are accurate. Expand unfamiliar internal acronyms and explain projects through your own contribution and outcome. Do not add a photograph, full home address, identity-document number, or family details just because an old template contains them.

Match the target employer and country. A private-sector resume, an academic CV, and a government application form serve different purposes; follow the vacancy's instructions. Our India resume-format guide explains the usual structure, and the country guides cover applications abroad.

Ask for clear text, standard headings, and evidence relevant to the role. An “ATS-friendly” claim does not establish that a document will pass every hiring system or earn an interview. The ATS guide explains the checks you can actually make.

Compare the full cost, not the headline price

Request an itemised quote in the billing currency: writing, taxes, consultation, additional versions, LinkedIn text, and any rush fee. Check whether anything renews. Compare quotes for the same deliverables and revision terms; a low advertised price is not necessarily the final cost.

Before making the decision, read when resume-writing services are worth it. That guide separates the problems a writer can solve from those that need stronger experience or a more targeted job search.
