Preparing your CV for Switzerland
EURES describes a Swiss application bundle containing a cover letter, CV, diplomas and employment certificates. It notes the importance of those supporting records and describes a photo as conventional. This does not establish a compulsory photo rule for every employer.
Check the complete application
Use the vacancy’s language and preserve the official titles of your qualifications. Add a translation where useful, but claim Swiss equivalence only when it has been established. Check whether the employer wants certificates now or later.
A practical writing example
If you progressed from analyst to senior analyst at one employer, show both titles and date ranges. That gives the reviewer a clear history to compare with your employment certificate rather than implying you held the senior title throughout.
This is an illustrative writing example. Use only details that reflect your own experience.
Sources and further guidance
Sources checked 22 September 2026. Conventions can vary by employer and role; official services define their own current requirements.
Examples to adapt to your role
