Use volume to explain the setting
A meal count helps the reader understand the kitchen, but it should not imply that you prepared every meal yourself. The sample says the candidate supported a team serving about 180 lunches. Other useful context might be the number of stations supported, delivery frequency or the type of prep list followed. Keep estimates reasonable. If the kitchen served very different volumes on weekdays and weekends, describe the typical pattern rather than selecting the largest day as though it happened every shift.
Describe hygiene as work you carried out
Mention the cleaning schedule, labelling process or storage procedure you followed, with any training you genuinely completed. Avoid giving temperatures, chemical mixtures or food-handling instructions unless you are following current approved guidance for the workplace. A resume is evidence of experience, not a substitute for food safety training. If you found a damaged item, missing label or unclear instruction, explain how you reported it. Do not claim that your actions guaranteed food safety across the whole kitchen.
Turn reliability into an example
Reliable and hardworking are easier to believe when supported by a concrete routine. The restock checklist shows how the fictional candidate noticed a recurring problem and helped reduce last-minute supply requests. You might instead describe preparing a station before service, keeping utensils organised or handing over shortages clearly. Use a measured result only if it was recorded. Avoid claiming that you reduced food waste unless you know what was measured and how your work contributed to the change.
