Define the network you manage
A logistics manager resume should make the operating scope understandable. State the product context, sites, delivery network and team responsibility. The fictional example focuses on domestic consumer-goods distribution. It does not imply experience in international freight, customs clearance or specialist transport. If your work covers those areas, include accurate details. A reader should be able to distinguish the network you coordinated from the entire supply chain of the business.
Show management decisions, not only shipment tasks
A manager’s resume should explain planning, prioritisation and follow-through. Carrier reviews, capacity decisions, team routines and cross-functional problem solving can show that scope. The sample moves from transport planning to managing a small logistics team, with different responsibilities in each role. Keep hands-on knowledge visible, but do not let every bullet describe booking a vehicle or updating a spreadsheet when your strongest evidence concerns decisions across several people or sites.
Use service measures with a clear definition
On-time dispatch, on-time delivery and complete delivery are not interchangeable. If you use a combined metric, explain its definition and reporting period. Note whether the measure covers all orders or only a selected lane. A drop in unresolved delivery queries is not the same as a reduction in late deliveries. The sample deliberately describes the exception it measures. Apply the same precision to claims about freight costs, utilisation, damage or lead times.
